+ RS-232 header

8 digital I/O, or
up to 8 servos

(configurable power
and ground busses
on all headers)

. (I/O lines have pulldown terminations and series
R's for overvoltage and
current-limit protection)
Small 3.6"x3.0" DB09-F RS232
connector
PIC micro
or OOPic
4 digital I/O, or
up to 4 servos

Physical dimensions: 3.6" x 3.0" (91 x 76 mm).

Configurability. The BOT40-II is highly-configurable:

  • the proto area can mount different combinations of chips and signal conditioning circuitry for the 8 A/D channels.
  • a second MAX232 channel and 4 LEDs can be configured to best suit particular user applications.
  • VREG2 can be a fixed or adjustable regulator, eg LM317 (1 Amp) or LM1084 (5 Amp).
  • all headers have 3-rows, with configurability of 2nd and 3rd rows for power and ground connections.
  • can interface up to 21 servos simultaneously with 8 A/D channels, or upwards to 29 servos possible.

Datasheets for parts are available on the web:

  • PIC microcontrollers: Microchip
  • MAX232: Maxim
