Basic Stamp BS2 Module

  • download sample code for BS2 module control of BOT-COP board - bcop-bs2.zip (6 Kbytes, revised 02.2006) - includes sound transducer and servo control.

    This file contains code to control the MSCC20 servo control chip from the BS2 module, but works the same for the WMC12 chip with the WMC-specific commands. Eg, substitute "BO" instead of "SO", etc.

    24-pin Module Reset Pin. Note that the different BS2-compatible 24-modules require different protocols on pin-4, the reset pin, of the DB09 serial interface connector.

  • the BS2 requires a serial capacitor in the line between DB09 and reset pin on the module, plus a capacitor to ground on the module reset pin.
  • the Atom-24 and BX-24 require a jumper from DB09 pin-4 to the module reset pin, which must be inserted for programming, but removed for general operation after programming.
  • the OOPic-C does not use reset via pin-4 of the DB09 connector.
  • Note that the BOT-COP controller boards are designed to handle all 3 situations.
